Lea Vogelius and her WOW Racing crew shine on home turf, clinching victory at the 2026 KDY Women's Match Race. This triumph marks the opening stage of the 2026 Women's World Match Racing Tour, hosted by the Royal Danish Yacht Club in Rungsted Harbour.
Vogelius and her team, consisting of Louise Ulrikkeholm, Sille Christensen, Josefine Rasmussen, Joan Hansen, and Maria Juul, showcased exceptional skill throughout the event, finishing the double round robin with a 10-4 record. They defeated Denmark's Kristine Mauritzen 3-1 in the semifinals to reach the final against Sweden's Anna Östling and her WINGS Sailing team, a formidable opponent.
Utilizing their intimate knowledge of the Rungsted racecourse and their expertise in the DS37 keelboats, Vogelius and her crew outpaced Östling to secure a 3-1 victory. "It’s been a tricky event, but we love sailing the DS37s," said Vogelius.
With this win, WOW Racing takes an early lead in the tour standings as they prepare for the next challenge at the Santa Maria Cup in Annapolis, USA, from June 3-6. The Santa Maria Cup, now in its 25th year, attracts top talents including defending champion Allie Blecher and past winner Anna Östling.
