The 2026 McIntyre Golden Globe Race introduces a groundbreaking feature: a 24/7 one-way live stream showcasing selected yachts without giving sailors any modern communication tools. This "GGR Window" allows audiences to witness the race like never before, offering insights into the performance of seven out of the 23 entrants.

Viewers can tune into live video feeds, track boat movements, and access key onboard data, all on a rotating daily schedule. Each skipper can broadcast for two to three hours by simply pressing a button to choose from three cameras, while GGR control manages the production. Notably, breaking news and dramatic moments can interrupt the regular programming, ensuring constant engagement.

The participating skippers include Ertan Beskardes, Stephen Wraith, Gunnar Christensen, Etienne Messikommer, Louis Kerdelhué, Helga Marie "Mara" Løvenskiold Kveseth, and Pär Nyman. Despite the live streaming, the sailors remain cut off from any incoming communications or modern navigation aids, relying solely on traditional methods like paper charts and sextants.

With this innovative approach, the GGR Window invites viewers to experience the raw essence of solo sailing, immersing them in the journey while keeping the competitors in the dark about their audience's reactions.
