The 2026 Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta kicks off today in Costa Smeralda, featuring 17 superyachts ready for action. Here’s why this event is a must-watch: it signals the start of the Mediterranean superyacht racing season and showcases some of the world’s most prestigious sailing yachts.

Today’s activities began with a skippers' briefing and a welcome cocktail at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, offering stunning views of Porto Cervo marina. The regatta runs until May 30, with yachts competing in the picturesque waters of the Costa Smeralda and La Maddalena Archipelago. The fleet is split into Blue and White divisions, adhering to ORCsy regulations, while a Corinthian Division allows owners to race in a more relaxed setup.

Notably, the regatta reignites the rivalry between the Swan 115 Moat, owned by Juan Ball, and the Southern Wind RP100 Morgana, owned by Francesco De Santis. Returning yachts include the Southern Wind 108 Gelliceaux and the SW100 Grillo Parlante. New entrants like the Southern Wind 108 Kalantis and the 39-meter Vitters Cervo make their debut this year.

SØRVIND by Giorgio Armani, a Southern Wind 105, also returns, representing the brand with renowned sailors on board. Excitement is in the air as the competition heats up!
