Sandringham Yacht Club hosts the Women in Sailing Challenge regatta, showcasing female helms on Sunday, March 1. The event features a two-race short course division and Race Day 2 of the Port Phillip Women's Championship Series, attracting boats from various clubs. Despite a forecast of rain and thunderstorms, competition remains fierce with calm seas and gusts reaching 25kn.
In Division 1 PHS, Robyn Ragauskus and her all-female crew clinch the Doris Little Women in Sailing Trophy, edging out Allie McLennan and Carla Martens. Bullet dominates by winning AMS and ORC.
In Division 2 PHS, Alice Ekberg helms the family Beneteau 36 Ragnar to victory, securing AMS, ORC, and PHS overall.
The Cruising division sees Kate Woodlock lead Beneteau 38.5 Firefox to PHS honors.
The next PPWCS Race Day is set for March 15 at Royal Yacht Club of Victoria.
