On March 29, 2009, Brawn GP pulls off a monumental upset in Formula 1 history, securing a stunning 1-2 finish in the season opener in Australia. Originating from the defunct Honda team, Brawn GP's future was uncertain until team principal Ross Brawn orchestrated a management buy-out. Jenson Button starts on pole, with teammate Rubens Barrichello right beside him, creating a Brawn lock-out on the grid. In a dramatic race that concludes under a safety car due to a crash involving Sebastian Vettel and Robert Kubica, Button takes the victory, followed closely by Barrichello. Jarno Trulli finishes third in his 200th Grand Prix. This remarkable debut marks the first time since 1954 that a constructor won its maiden race after securing pole. Button goes on to win five more races, while Barrichello adds two more, leading Brawn to clinch the 2009 constructors championship and earning the 2010 Laureus World Sports Award for Team of the Year.
