Instead, he emphasizes a natural evolution in their relationship. Webber, previously a constant presence in Piastri's journey, has stepped back this season, allowing Pedro Matos, Piastri's race engineer from his 2021 F2 season, to take on a more visible role.
Despite this shift, Piastri assures fans that his communication with Webber remains strong and active. “I’m still very much involved, and I’ve still spoken to him a lot through the start of the year,” he states.
Piastri highlights his growing confidence and experience, taking on responsibilities that were once solely managed by Webber. He explains, “Now some of those questions come a lot more naturally for me. It’s just a natural evolution, really.”
