From April 30 to May 3, Lake Ammersee, just outside Munich, hosts the first round of the circuit, featuring two UK teams. Initially chilly and windy due to recent snowfall, the weather shifts to perfect sailing conditions. On Day 1, competitors debate rig choices before settling on #2 rigs as winds build. Eleven boats line up for the first race, navigating tactical challenges with shifting breezes. The 'Black Night' team, led by Heinrich Von Bayern, and 'Peroni,' helmed by Philipp Nocke, dominate the day, with 'Hoefle Haus' and newcomers 'Selden OneSails' showing strong performances.
Day 2 brings solid #1 rig conditions, leading to intense racing with multiple boats vying for positions. 'Black Night' maintains their lead, while 'Peroni' showcases tactical brilliance. 'Hoefle Haus' finds their stride, winning two races and tightening the competition at the top. British teams, including Ed Skeith's Haufle Haus White, experience ups and downs, contending with tricky wind holes. An evening of camaraderie, pizza, and local beer rounds off the day's action at the Diessner-Segel-Club.
