North Lincs & Humberside Sailing Club Dominates the Regatta
Moreover, the North Lincs & Humberside Sailing Club (NLHSC) recently held its annual Regatta on July 18-19. This two-day sailing competition attracted competitors from nearby clubs, showcasing the region's vibrant sailing community. The event featured a total of eight races, highlighting the skills of local sailors.
Additionally, a fleet of 20 boats participated in the Regatta, representing both NLHSC and Welton Sailing Club. The handicap format allowed for a diverse range of classes, including the Miracle, Heron, Topper Xenon, Solo, and Supernova. The ILCA 7 and ILCA 4 fleets were particularly popular, with 15 of the 20 entries coming from these two categories.

Furthermore, the first day of the Regatta greeted participants with a steady northerly wind blowing at 10-15 knots. A figure-of-eight course was set up, consisting of two upwind legs at either end of the lake. This layout created exciting and competitive racing throughout the day. The ILCA 7 fleet dominated, winning all four races.
Notably, Will Kebbell secured the victory in the opening race. Russ Skelton followed up by winning both the second and third races. Owen Eyles capped off a successful day for the ILCA 7 fleet with a win in the fourth race. Russ Skelton added another win in race three, solidifying the ILCA 7 fleet's dominance.
Ultimately, after eight closely fought races, Russ Skelton emerged as the overall winner of the Regatta. Brian Henline took second place, while Sam Skelton secured third on the podium.
