The inaugural Antigua Racing Cup kicks off this Wednesday, bringing cutting-edge technology to the stunning Caribbean waters. This event, running from April 8-12, features a diverse fleet of keelboats and multihulls under IRC, CSA, and multihull rating rules.

Race Committee chair Neil Andrew aims to maximize racing excitement with courses designed for all skill levels. Race manager Jaime Torres emphasizes the blend of Antigua's natural beauty and modern racing tech, creating precise, flexible courses that adapt to conditions. Teams can expect a mix of tactical windward/leeward races and longer coastal courses, promoting both crew skill and strategic sail selection.

Over four days, up to three races per day will unfold in tropical conditions, followed by lively post-race Happy Hours featuring local cuisine. The fleet showcases boats from 82-24 feet (25-8m) with entries from North America, Europe, Scandinavia, and the Caribbean.

Highlighting the competition are the 25m (82') Oyster Zig Zag and the legendary 79-foot Kialoa III, renowned for its record-setting legacy. The fastest contender, Dan Gribble's Tripp 65 Prevail, faces off against the HH66 catamaran Lee Overlay Partners III, capable of reaching speeds near 30 knots. Get ready for thrilling racing action!
