The 2026 Rolex China Sea Race kicks off today at 1120hrs from Victoria Harbour. A fleet of 20 yachts embarks on the 565nm journey to Subic Bay, Philippines. Among the competitors are Team Alive-Rampage from Australia, Seawolf from the Chinese Mainland, and two Philippine teams — Standard Insurance Centennial V and Standard Insurance Centennial VII. The largest yacht, the 75ft Standard Insurance Centennial V, aims for line honors, facing stiff competition from the RP66 Team Alive-Rampage, which seeks to break its own race record. Skipper Duncan Hine emphasizes the need for safety while pushing hard. In a historic first, Tiger Mok tackles the race solo aboard 2 Easy, prioritizing safety and strategy. Regatta Chairman Hugues de Saint Germain anticipates strong winds at 25kts. The fleet departs in 7 to 9kts of breeze, with Team Alive-Rampage first through the Lei Yue Mun Gap.
