New Zealand’s sailors face tough conditions at the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma on Day 4. George Gautrey leads the charge, sitting eighth overall after three elimination races, firmly in the top 10. Caleb Armit is 77th, and George Pilkington is 84th, both competing in the silver fleet.
In the ILCA 6 fleet, Greta Pilkington secures a sixth-place finish in a gold fleet race, now ranking 22nd overall with three races left to improve. Stella Bilger stays in striking distance of the top 10 in women’s iQFOiL, currently 16th, just 12 points shy.
Veerle ten Have wins a race in the silver fleet, sitting 36th overall, while Aimee Bright is 39th. Eli Liefting ranks 43rd in the men’s iQFOiL, with Blake Hinsley at 92nd.
In the 49er class, Mattias Coutts and Oscar Gunn are 22nd, while Francesco Kayrouz and Hamish McLaren sit 23rd. Sam Bacon and Blake McGlashan are 45th in the silver fleet.
The lead in the 49er fleet shifts between Australian and American teams, with Sydney’s Harry Price and Max Paul now in first place after a strong performance. Micah Wilkinson and Kate Stewart rise to 14th in the Nacra 17.
