The Larchmont Yacht Club, representing Larchmont, New York, claimed victory at the Boston Yacht Club's prestigious event, leaving competitors in their wake. Marblehead's Eastern Yacht Club finished in second, while the Royal Thames Yacht Club from the UK took third, and Ida Lewis Yacht Club from Newport, Rhode Island, came in fourth.

BYC Rear Commodore Robert Bova praised the event's spirit, emphasizing the camaraderie and tradition that the Jackson Cup embodies. The competition featured notable teams including the New York Yacht Club, last year's champions, along with local clubs and the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club from Long Island.

Graham Landy, skipper of the winning Larchmont team, noted the racing conditions improved throughout the event, describing it as "really tight team racing." Meanwhile, George Potter from the Royal Thames Yacht Club expressed delight at the favorable weather, contrasting it with last year's challenging conditions.
