In her letter, Brooke expresses regret over the Jays’ World Series loss and hopes her father returns to the team. "My whole family loves spending time in Toronto," she writes.
Scherzer, 41, is eager to return after the Jays' near championship last season. They led in Game 7 before falling 5-4 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. "This team can win," Scherzer states. He feels healthy after a thumb injury last year, ready for the upcoming season. His contract includes $10 million in performance bonuses.
