Elfyn Evans wins the Rally of Japan, marking his second victory of the season in the World Rally Championship and extending his lead in the standings. This performance highlights Toyota's extraordinary dominance and the talent of the Welsh driver.

Evans, alongside co-driver Scott Martin, displayed impeccable control across all 20 special stages, finishing with a 12.8-second advantage over reigning champion Sebastien Ogier. With this success, Evans becomes the most successful driver in the history of the Rally of Japan. Toyota monopolizes the podium, with Sami Pajari in third place at +51.4 seconds and local hero Takamoto Katsuta fourth at +1m03.5 seconds.

Despite the challenging initial conditions, with the wet surface due to rain, Evans made the most of his starting position, jumping to the front after the Isegami Tunnel stage. Oliver Solberg, in contention for the win, saw his hopes dashed due to an accident that compromised his car, leaving Ogier in second place. With a 20-point lead over Katsuta, Evans solidifies his position as the championship leader.
