Brandon Clarke, forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, faces serious legal issues after his arrest in Arkansas on Wednesday. Charges include speeding, improper passing, fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, and trafficking a controlled substance. The Cross County Sheriff's Department has confirmed his booking, complete with a mugshot.
Injury woes have plagued Clarke this season, limiting him to just two games. The Grizzlies have officially ruled him out for the remainder of the season. Coach Tuomas Iisalo acknowledges the situation but refrains from further comment ahead of the game against the New York Knicks.
Clarke, standing at 6-foot-7, is in his seventh season after playing at Gonzaga. He has missed a staggering 73 games this year, initially sidelined for 26 games due to right knee surgery. He returned briefly in December, only to suffer a right calf strain. The Grizzlies announced on March 24 that tests revealed Clarke requires additional time to heal before engaging in high-intensity workouts.
With significant challenges ahead, Clarke's future on the court remains uncertain, but the team expects his return for next season.
