Giannis Antetokounmpo is out at least one week due to a hyperextended left knee and a bone bruise. Imaging reveals no structural damage, according to Bucks coach Doc Rivers, who confirms the injury is less severe than it could be. Giannis suffered the injury during a dunk in the third quarter against the Indiana Pacers, but he aims to return this season. The Bucks, currently 28-40 and sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, trail the Charlotte Hornets by 6½ games for the final play-in spot. Rivers notes the team faces tough decisions regarding Giannis’s return as they weigh playoff hopes against his health. This season, Giannis has missed 32 games, the most in his career, and the Bucks are 11-21 without him. In 36 games this season, he averages 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. Myles Turner also missed Tuesday’s game with a right calf strain.
