Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman hints at a significant change, suggesting A.J. Brown’s tenure in Philly may soon come to an end. This offseason, Roseman has repeatedly stated, “A.J. Brown is an Eagle,” but reports indicate a looming trade to the New England Patriots, involving a 2028 first-round pick, set to finalize after June 1.
Instead of finding a direct replacement for Brown, Roseman is strategically reshaping the Eagles’ offense. In the recent draft, Philly selected two key pass-catchers, signaling a shift in their approach. First-round pick Makai Lemon, a standout receiver from USC, showcases versatility, capable of playing both in the slot and outside. Roseman views Lemon as a potential top slot receiver, drawing comparisons to Detroit Lions All-Pro Amon-Ra St. Brown. With a lack of elite receivers, Lemon is poised for significant targets next season.
On Day 2, the Eagles added Vanderbilt’s Eli Stowers, a dynamic tight end who will likely share time with veteran Dallas Goedert. With Goedert previously shopped around, Stowers’ drafting indicates Roseman’s commitment to evolving the offense. The Eagles are clearly preparing for a future without A.J. Brown, and it could redefine their passing game.
