The Dallas Cowboys are confident that trading superstar Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers was the right decision. Cowboys COO Stephen Jones expressed strong optimism about the move, stating, "We feel really good about it."
Jones acknowledges Parsons' elite talent but believes the trade adds significant value to the team. The Cowboys acquired three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark and two first-round picks (2026 and 2027) in exchange for Parsons, who recently signed a massive four-year, $188 million extension with the Packers. Despite a productive start to his season, Parsons faced a setback with a torn ACL, totaling 12.5 sacks and earning his third All-Pro honor.
Additionally, Dallas made another bold move at the 2025 NFL trade deadline, sending a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-rounder, and defensive lineman Mazi Smith to the New York Jets for four-time Pro Bowler Quinnen Williams.
Jones emphasizes a team-first approach, stating, "One player is not worth four or five good ones." As the Cowboys reflect on their recent trades, they're focused on building a roster capable of competing for the championship and delivering what their fans deserve. The addition of safety Caleb Downs in the recent draft further underscores their commitment to strengthening the team.
