Saquon Barkley embraces the 2026 season with renewed excitement for the Philadelphia Eagles, thanks to new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Barkley describes Mannion's system as "refreshing" and unlike anything he's experienced in his nine-year career. After a dip in performance last season, where he rushed for 1,140 yards on 4.1 yards per carry, Barkley looks forward to a more dynamic offense. Mannion, formerly the Green Bay Packers' quarterbacks coach, is expected to implement a zone running scheme, similar to those that benefited stars like Josh Jacobs and Christian McCaffrey. The Eagles' offensive struggles in 2025 saw them finish 24th in total offense and 19th in scoring, leading to a disappointing wild-card exit against the San Francisco 49ers. Following the playoff loss, the Eagles parted ways with former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, paving the way for Mannion's fresh approach.
