Aaron Rodgers' future with the Pittsburgh Steelers remains uncertain, but owner Art Rooney hints that a decision is imminent. In a recent interview, Rooney confirmed ongoing communication with Rodgers, stating, "I think we will come to a conclusion here in the next few weeks."
Pittsburgh recently placed an unrestricted free-agent tender on the 42-year-old quarterback, a move that could secure the team a compensatory draft pick should he sign elsewhere. Rooney explained, "The main thing that the tender gives us is the potential for a comp pick if Aaron would choose to go to another team."
Last season, Rodgers led the Steelers to an AFC North title with a 10-7 record, throwing for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, achieving a 94.8 passer rating. The Steelers' quarterback situation features Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and Drew Allar, the latter drafted at No. 76 in 2026.
If Rodgers returns, he would reunite with Mike McCarthy, his former coach from the Green Bay Packers, who was appointed as the Steelers' head coach in January. The coming weeks will be crucial for both Rodgers and Pittsburgh as they navigate this pivotal decision.
