In a rematch of last year's shocking quarterfinals, Canada finally breaks through in the third period, scoring five goals after a slow start. Despite 28 shots, Canada struggled to find the net until Porter Martone opened the scoring just 28 seconds into the final frame, thanks to Crosby's cross-goal assist. Gabriel Vilardi quickly doubles the lead, followed by Denton Mateychuk, who capitalizes on a rebound with another assist from Crosby. Ryan O'Reilly and Parker Wotherspoon add two more goals, both set up by the captain. Teenage sensation Macklin Celebrini contributes with two assists, while goalie Jet Greaves makes 15 saves. Nick Olesen scores Denmark's only goal.
This victory marks Canada's third consecutive win, following solid performances against Sweden and Italy. The team is now gearing up to face Norway on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the defending champion United States struggles again, losing 6-2 to Finland. Lenni Hameenaho shines with two goals and an assist, helping Finland secure their third straight win in Group A. The U.S. next faces Germany on Wednesday.
