In a thrilling second period, Zackary Shantz and Carter Bear scored within just 50 seconds, turning the tide in favor of the Silvertips. Shantz, bound for St. Cloud State, netted the go-ahead goal with just over six minutes left in the period, capitalizing on a slick pass from Jesse Heslop. Bear, the 13th overall pick by Detroit, quickly followed up after a Chicoutimi turnover, showcasing the depth of Everett's talent.
Chicoutimi initially took the lead with Alex Huang’s goal but struggled to maintain momentum. Lukas Kaplan and Matias Vanhanen also contributed to Everett’s scoreline, while Chicoutimi's Christophe Berthelot and Maxim Masse added goals of their own.
Everett’s Anders Miller stood strong in net, making 22 saves. The Silvertips dominated the WHL playoffs, losing only two games en route to the Memorial Cup.
