George Love and Ray Gall lead a competitive fleet at the Dart 15 TT & Northern Championship, marking a thrilling start to the 2026 sailing season. This event, held at the scenic Carsington Sailing Club, features 13 visiting boats alongside the hosts, competing for the prestigious Northern Champion title.
Racing kicks off under bright skies with shifting winds creating an exciting challenge. In Race 1, Angus Cook (Castaways) surprises the fleet with a bold port start, taking the lead at the first windward mark. Chasing him are Liam Thom (Shanklin), Jason Clarke (Marconi), and defending champion Jenny Ball (Marconi), finishing in that order after three laps.
Race 2 sees Liam take an early lead, but Jenny surges ahead by lap three. Jason’s premature celebration leads to a costly mistake, finishing 11th after briefly leaving the race. Angus clinches victory, closely followed by Liam and Jenny.
Race 3 showcases Jason's resilience as he dominates from start to finish, overcoming his earlier blunder. Day 2 begins with sunny skies and stronger winds, promising more action. The front runners quickly establish a lead in Race 4, setting the stage for an intense final day. The competition remains fierce, with everything still to play for.
