Thirty-six sailors, both men and women, gear up for the 57th edition of La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, set to launch from Perros-Guirec towards Vigo, Spain. This early-season start reshapes the race dynamics, promising an exhilarating competition.
The lineup features seasoned veterans alongside eager rookies. Notable returnees include Loïs Berrehar (Banque Populaire), Adrien Hardy (Sans Nature, pas de futur !), Nicolas Lunven (PRB), and Martin Le Pape (Paprec), who steps in for the withdrawn Yoann Richomme. Collectively, these four sailors bring 38 participations to the table, with Lunven boasting two past victories.
Lunven expresses excitement about his return, despite the challenges of adapting to the newer Figaro Bénéteau 3. He aims to perform at his best while enjoying the experience. Meanwhile, Le Pape acknowledges the pressure of stepping in last-minute but intends to embrace the opportunity.
On the other hand, Berrehar, a close contender for victory in 2024, is back with renewed determination, fueled by extensive sailing experiences over the past year. Hardy stands out as the fleet’s most experienced sailor, with 11 participations and five stage wins under his belt. The stage is set for an unforgettable race filled with fierce competition and unexpected twists.
