The 73rd Loro Piana Giraglia is set to ignite the Mediterranean with fierce competition among over 130 yachts from around the globe. This iconic event, running from June 12-16 for inshore racing and followed by a 241nm offshore challenge starting June 17, promises to showcase elite sailing talent and rich maritime tradition.
The race kicks off in Saint-Tropez, rounding the historic Giraglia Rock off Corsica, and culminating in Genoa. It encapsulates over 70 years of sailing heritage, blending rivalry with elegance.
A key highlight will be the battle for line honors among four formidable Maxis: Magic Carpet E, Leopard 3, V, and Arca SGR. Magic Carpet E narrowly missed the title last year, finishing just 2 minutes and 43 seconds behind. Arca SGR, led by Furio Benussi, boasts a strong track record, including victories in the Barcolana and the 151 Miglia.
Leopard 3, under new ownership, has evolved into a powerful contender, winning multiple prestigious races. With a focus on enhancing performance in changing Mediterranean conditions, the team aims to tackle the unpredictability of the summer waters. The 2026 Giraglia promises a thrilling showcase of speed, strategy, and sailing excellence.
