Australia's Bonds Flying Roos dominate SailGP Rio, clinching four consecutive victories. This remarkable achievement marks a first in six seasons of SailGP racing.

What unfolds next reveals the true impact of this triumph on the championship landscape.

The Bonds Flying Roos secured victory in the inaugural Enel Rio Sail Grand Prix, marking their second win of the 2026 Season. This performance propels Australia to the top of the Rolex SailGP Championship standings, while Emirates GBR slips to second after a challenging weekend. Artemis made their debut in an event final, finishing third, ahead of Los Gallos in second.

Twelve teams faced tough conditions on Guanabara Bay, with major swells and shifting winds complicating the F50 handling. However, three-time Rolex SailGP Champion Tom Slingsby showcased his skill, winning all three qualifying races and the final. Despite a five-point penalty in race six for a breach against Switzerland, the team held strong.

Los Gallos, representing Spain, also shone, finishing no lower than fourth in the qualifying races to secure a spot in the final. Driver Diego Botín praised the iconic Rio setting and expressed satisfaction with their performance. Meanwhile, Nathan Outteridge of Artemis celebrated their first final appearance, emphasizing the progress made in challenging conditions.
