Rolex China Sea Race 2026 is officially underway! The historic race, first held in 1962, now sees just 20 boats, including the record-holder Alive (RP66) aiming to beat its own 2016 mark of 47 hours for the 565nm course. The race started yesterday with a solid breeze, but conditions quickly shifted. Boats struggled in a glassy Quarry Bay, while Alive took an early lead amid the chaos. 2014 winner Happy Go and fellow TP52s grappled with the unpredictable winds, while the back of the fleet lagged behind. After 31 hours of racing, Alive leads Centennial 5 by 32nm, having covered 369nm. With 204nm to go, the pace is record-breaking, but the challenging Luzon Hole looms ahead. The competition intensifies as teams navigate these tough conditions. Stay tuned for updates!
