Tom Dolan gears up for his ninth season on the Figaro circuit, bursting with energy after last year's injury setback. Forced to withdraw from the Solitaire du Figaro, the Kingspan skipper now views this season as an opportunity for a powerful comeback. Dolan compares his mindset to a "Rocky" return, ready to rise stronger after being knocked down.
He reflects on his intense training early last year, making significant rig and sail adjustments that bolster his current preparations. The boat is race-ready, but Dolan focuses on his own fitness. “I’m a little rusty after the winter break, but it’s encouraging how quickly it comes back,” he states.
With the Solo Guy Cotten - Concarneau and the Banque Populaire Grand Ouest Trophy ahead, Dolan aims to hit peak form before the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec from May 13 to June 7.
