Twenty-seven sailors hit the water at Spinnaker Sailing Club for the first Southern Area Traveller of the season. A strong southerly wind set the stage for an exhilarating day on March 1, 2026. The 5.3 fleet tackled the outer loop, while the 4.2 fleet raced on the inner loop, showcasing winter training gains and first-time competition nerves.

Seven sprint races unfolded under tough conditions. In the 5.3 fleet, Hendricks Long clinches first, edging out Henry Ross, with Phileas Rouselle close behind. The 4.2 fleet saw wild gusts and notable capsizes, with Martha Hart taking the win, followed by Emily Doughty and George Klaschka. Highlights include Alixe Constance’s stunning port flyer and Athena Phillips’ impressive Endeavour Award-winning death roll.
