The Nice court has found MP Christelle d’Intorni guilty of defamation against Christian Estrosi regarding his financial management of the former French Grand Prix of Formula 1 at Castellet. The parliamentarian, close to Éric Ciotti, is appealing and contesting the decision. In her statements, she mentions what she considers excessive spending and accuses Estrosi of hiding the beneficiaries. She questions the accounts of the public interest group (GIP) chaired by Estrosi, particularly regarding controversial expenses. Meanwhile, an investigation by the Marseille prosecutor's office into allegations of favoritism and embezzlement of public funds is underway. Estrosi welcomes the judicial decision, claiming that justice has proven his integrity. In March 2024, the prefect of the Paca region ordered the dissolution of the GIP due to a debt exceeding 30 million euros.
