The 2026 Fishers Green Cadet Regatta delivers thrilling competition and energetic camaraderie on the water. Here’s why this vibrant event is shaping the future of youth sailing in the UK.
The Fishers Green Sailing Club buzzes with excitement as 24 young sailors gather for an action-packed weekend of racing, BBQ, and camping. The day kicks off with a 10:30 AM briefing, setting the stage for fierce competition on a course featuring both Turtle Island and Snake Island.
Sibling rivalry heats up in Race 1, with Rosie Hancock and Eden Jones challenging William Hancock and Alvy Jones in a westerly breeze. Charlie Jones and Francis Lonardo secure second place, while Thomas Emile and Pierre Harris lead the Regatta Fleet. Race 2 sees Zoe Thomas and Lisa Gass edge out Will and Alvy for the win.
After a well-deserved lunch featuring Swedish Meatballs, the stakes rise in Race 3 as Rosie and Eden dominate the field. Race 4 introduces a new course, but Charlie and Francis continue their strong performance. The day culminates in a Crew’s race, where passion and speed drive the competition.
The dedication of club members since 2023 fuels this resurgence, making the Fishers Green Cadet Regatta a pivotal event for aspiring sailors.
