Ireland triumphs over Italy 20-13, but the victory is far from reassuring. Trailing at halftime, the Irish, still haunted by their defeat to France (36-14), struggle to find their rhythm. Italy, who defeated Scotland (18-15), opens the scoring with a try from Jamie Osborne. Thanks to Paolo Garbisi and Giacomo Nicotera, the Azzurri lead 10-5 at halftime, a first in Dublin. In the second half, Jack Conan and Robert Baloucoune turn things around for the Irish XV. Despite an Italian response, notably from Garbisi (67th minute), Ireland holds firm. An interception by James Lowe seals the fate of the match. Italy leaves with a defensive bonus point, while Ireland needs to correct its mistakes before the rest of the tournament.
