Edwin Edogbo, the Irish lock from Munster, is facing "racial abuse" following his first cap against Italy (20-13) during the Six Nations. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) has launched an investigation in response to these attacks on social media. To protect Edogbo, the IRFU has disabled comments on its posts. A spokesperson said, "We are aware of targeted online attacks and are working with Signify and the authorities." The union reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy towards racism. At 23 years old, Edogbo, who was born in Cork to Nigerian parents, could be back on the field on February 21 against England.
