Vaikobi makes waves at the JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff World Championship. The 27-boat fleet kicks off Race 1 on March 7, featuring Vaikobi, skippered by Kirk Mitchel, with Andrew Stephenson and Daniel Barnett. A smaller Vaikobi logo also appears on several competing teams, showcasing the brand’s broad involvement.
Since the mid-1960s, sponsorship has fueled the Australian 18ft skiff class, and Vaikobi continues this legacy. CEO Pat Langley, a respected figure, first entered the scene in 2019. Under his leadership, Vaikobi has built strong partnerships, including co-sponsoring Jack Macartney's Tech2, which won the 2020-21 Australian Championship.
Now, Mitchell and crew prepare to race with Vaikobi as their full boat sponsor. “We lucked out getting Pat Langley,” says Mitchell. Five-time champion Trent Barnabas also praises Langley’s ongoing support and collaboration in developing new sailing gear.
