The ORC Double-Handed European Championship 2026 kicks off today in Altea, Spain. This marks the fourth edition of the continental title and the 40th anniversary of the 200 Millas A2, organized by Club Náutico Altea in partnership with the Offshore Racing Congress. Fifty-three boats from six nations compete in what’s considered the toughest winter offshore regatta in the Mediterranean. The championship runs from March 1 to March 7, launching the 2026 ORC international season.

Registration and safety inspections are underway, led by ORC Chief Measurer Zoran Grubisa and Rating Officer Rafael Bonilla. Racing begins March 3 at 12:00 with a coastal race, followed by a rest day on March 4 featuring a traditional paella. The highlight arrives on March 5 at 12:00, as competitors set sail for Ibiza in the iconic 200 Millas A2 regatta.
