Delph Sailing Club in Bolton sets a new record with 42 competitors at the ILCA Open meeting, showcasing the strength of the Northern Youth Circuit. This impressive turnout highlights the growing enthusiasm for youth sailing, and reveals key performances that could shape the future of the circuit.
Home club sailor Ava Harris-Scott shines brightly, winning the ILCA 6 class with a strong start that includes a race win and a second-place finish. Her mature performance, despite her youth status, secures her the top spot in a competitive fleet. Following closely is Tristan Shaw from Budworth SC, who battles back from a rocky beginning to finish second overall, while Henry Blades from Scaling Dam clinches third with a standout race win.
In the ILCA 7 class, Julien Rohart of Oxford SC and Netley SC makes headlines by overcoming a disqualification to finish fourth overall. Lewis Bacon from Leigh & Lowton SC, competing as a youth, impresses with a second-place finish in race one, ending the day sixth overall. Local sailor Tim Keighley also performs well, securing seventh place.
