He explains that he and his daughter picked their viewing spot, only to find Van Aert approaching faster than anticipated. “When I turned around to see Wout, he was already there and I touched him lightly,” he recalls.
The viral photo, now a subject of memes, serves as a reminder of the risks fans face when getting too close to the action. The fan expresses concern for Van Aert's wellbeing, emphasizing that safety is paramount.
