Emirates GBR secures a second-place finish at the KPMG Sydney Sail Grand Prix, continuing its impressive podium streak. The team competes fiercely against the USA and Spain in the final, but struggles in light winds hinder their speed on the 50ft catamarans. This marks Emirates GBR's fifth consecutive podium, following victories in Cadiz, Abu Dhabi, and Perth, as well as a second-place finish in Auckland. With 28 points, Emirates GBR leads the 2026 Season Leaderboard, ahead of Australia's BONDS Flying Roos and the USA. Driver Dylan Fletcher praises the team's effort in tough conditions. On Race Day 1, Emirates GBR faced challenges, finishing 3rd, 7th, 5th, and 6th. On Day Two, they win Race 5 and secure enough points for the final. CEO Sir Ben Ainslie commends the team's performance, noting the unique challenges of light winds, especially for new crew member Stuart Bithell MBE.
