The Enterprise fleet is gaining momentum as the 2026 season kicks off, setting the stage for an exciting 70th Anniversary National Championship in May. This iconic two-person dinghy class, established in 1956, boasts over 23,000 registered boats globally and is renowned for its tactical racing and vibrant community.
The season opens with strong participation across regional circuits, highlighted by the "Cock o' the North" Northern Series at Scammonden Water SC, where 21 boats competed, showcasing a lively atmosphere and fierce competition. The series continues with events at Tynemouth Sailing Club, featuring 11 boats, before heading to the National Championship.
In Scotland, the Bluebell Series thrives, with venues like Forfar Sailing Club offering challenging conditions that test teamwork and skill. Meanwhile, the Thames Valley Enterprise Series remains a key fixture in the south, attracting both seasoned sailors and newcomers, with a focus on precise boat handling.
The Midlands also sees robust activity, with numerous open meetings and regional championships that bridge club racing to the national stage. Complementing the racing, a recent training day at Largo Bay Sailing Club focused on refining skills, ensuring teams are well-prepared for the challenges ahead. The excitement is palpable as the Enterprise class gears up for a landmark season.
