Hyundai Aims for Improved Performance Against Toyota in WRC

Hyundai ramps up its World Rally Championship efforts with new upgrades planned for the i20 N Rally1 after the Safari Rally Kenya. The team struggles early in the 2026 season, facing tough competition from Toyota, which has dominated the podiums in Monte Carlo and Sweden. Hyundai’s top finish so far is Adrien Fourmaux’s fourth place in Monte Carlo. Despite recent challenges, including a narrow operating window for the ‘Evo’ car, Hyundai is committed to improvement. Sporting director Andrew Wheatley reveals the team has been testing extensively on gravel and asphalt to prepare for upcoming events in Croatia and the Canary Islands. The first wave of upgrades is expected to debut in Croatia (April 9-12). Wheatley emphasizes the team's dedication, noting that testing has been meticulously planned and executed to enhance performance throughout the demanding calendar ahead.
