Hyundai remains undecided about its World Rally Championship future in 2027 while focusing on improving its 2026 Rally1 car. The WRC introduces new technical regulations next year, aiming for affordability with a €345,000 cost cap. Currently, only Toyota commits to a new car under these rules, with Project Rally One also developing its vehicle. Hyundai and M-Sport-Ford have yet to clarify their 2027 plans. Sporting director Andrew Wheatley states the team is working at "120%" on the Rally1 car, prioritizing performance gains after tough starts in Monte Carlo and Sweden. Hyundai plans to develop its Rally2 car, which could compete alongside WRC27 vehicles next season. Wheatley emphasizes ongoing discussions with the FIA and promoter but confirms no timeline for a decision on 2027 participation. The team aims to maximize the current car's potential before determining its next steps.
