Arrigo, representing Newport Harbor Yacht Club, Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club, and Coconut Grove Sailing Club, navigates tricky conditions with a keen focus on tactical intelligence, a concept taught by her coach, John Bertrand. Over three days of racing, with winds ranging from 12 to 18 knots, she relies on her conditioning and technique to maintain boat speed, especially in flat water.
The competition features eight races where Arrigo's ability to anticipate shifts and manage fleet positioning proves crucial. Despite facing unpredictable conditions, her quick recovery on the reaches and downwinds minimizes losses.
