Manchester United is in talks to sign Robert Lewandowski from Barcelona on a one-year deal. Reports indicate the Red Devils are keen to bolster their attacking options after investing around £200 million this summer on players like Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo. Under interim boss Michael Carrick, Man Utd has surged to third in the Premier League with seven wins, two draws, and just one loss in ten matches.
Sesko, who struggled initially, has found his form, scoring eight goals in his last 11 outings. Still, concerns linger about his ability to lead the line alone, prompting United to seek additional competition.
Tomasz Kuszczak previously dubbed Lewandowski “the best player of all time,” and United hopes he can mentor the younger forwards. However, Barcelona is also considering extending Lewandowski's contract, albeit with a significant pay cut and performance-related bonuses.
Lewandowski expressed heartbreak after Poland’s World Cup elimination, hinting at a tough decision ahead regarding his future. Fabrizio Romano reported that while Barcelona is open to a new contract, Lewandowski's camp is exploring all options, including moves to Italy, MLS, and Saudi Arabia. His decision is expected in the coming weeks.
