Ripon Sailing Club hosted an unexpected yet thrilling Craftinsure Supernova Northern Traveller Series, despite rain and calm winds. This event showcased the resilience of sailors, as Race Officer Bernard Clark initiated racing after a brief delay. With 11 visitors competing alongside Streakers, the competition was fierce, featuring intense battles for positions throughout the fleet.
Following a hearty lunch, the wind conditions shifted, leading to a gusty second race that resulted in a few capsizes. Though initially forecasted to strengthen, the wind eventually calmed, setting the stage for the day’s best race. Ripon Sailing Club expresses gratitude for the turnout and aims to make this event an annual highlight. Stay tuned for future updates as this series continues to evolve!
