RMC Motorsport announces an ambitious plan to enter the World Rally Championship's top tier with a groundbreaking car designed for the new WRC27 regulations. This Spanish team, founded by Roberto Mendez in 2004, aims to bring fresh energy to the competition by developing a vehicle in collaboration with the Real Federacion Espanola de Automovilismo (RFEDA).

This initiative, unveiled during the Rally Islas Canarias, marks a significant step for RMC, which has nearly a decade of experience in crafting Group N5 rally cars. The regulations mandate RMC to build a minimum of 10 WRC27 cars, with intentions to sell to private teams, reinforcing the competitive landscape.

Mendez emphasizes the project as a professional milestone for RMC, highlighting the team's extensive background and eagerness to take on this challenge. The RFEDA's support positions it as the first FIA member club to back a constructor's entry into the WRC, aiming to create pathways for Spanish talent in international rallying.

Under the new technical framework, WRC27 cars will be capped at €345,000 and feature advanced specifications, including a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine. RMC Motorsport joins Belgian outfit Project Rally One as the second tuner committed to these new regulations, with Toyota also preparing to develop a WRC27 car.
