Munster faces a significant blow ahead of their crucial clash against Connacht, with five international players sidelined due to injuries.

This situation could reshape the playoff landscape as Munster aims for a top-eight finish.

Missing from the lineup for Saturday's encounter at Dexcom Stadium are Tadhg Beirne (knee), Tom Farrell (shoulder), Calvin Nash (hamstring), Oli Jager (head), and Jean Kleyn (biceps). All five sustained injuries during a recent victory over a weakened Ulster team, while Jack Crowley, the standout Ireland fly-half, withdrew just before the match. Fortunately for Munster, Crowley is fit for selection against Connacht, who are fighting to break into the playoff spots themselves. Munster currently sits fifth, only two points off third-placed Lions and fourth-placed Leinster, yet just four points clear of Ulster in ninth.

In addition to Crowley's return, second-rower Fineen Wycherley re-enters training this week following a knee issue.

Across the league, Ulster also struggles with injuries. Jacob Stockdale faces a maxillo-facial assessment after suffering a facial fracture, while Stuart McCloskey (hamstring) and David McCann (knee) will undergo MRI scans. Meanwhile, Angus Bell, Rob Herring, and Scott Wilson are back in training as Ulster prepares to host the Stormers.
