The Yacht Club de Cannes is a powerhouse of sailing talent, boasting an impressive collection of European and World titles across multiple disciplines. Here’s why this club is setting the standard for future champions.

In recent years, the club’s young sailors have captured multiple French championship titles, with standout performances in ILCA, 470, RS Aero, and Wingfoil. Matisse Pacaud and Lucie de Gennes, both 24, lead the French Olympic team and are three-time junior world champions, alongside being two-time European junior champions. They are well-positioned to represent France at the 2028 Olympic Games.

Maxime Nocher, a seasoned kitesurfer, secured third place at the 2018 World Championships, while Louise Rahn, at just 16, became the RS Aero World Champion in 2025 and finished third in the ILCA 4 European Championships. Nathan Werhle, only 14, clinched the ILCA 4 world title in Los Angeles, and Capucine Deltel, 16, recently became the European champion in Spain.

Hermione Ghicas from Greece, a recent addition to the club, was crowned ILCA 6 World Champion, while Julien Rattotti showcased his prowess by winning the European Championships in wingfoil. Young Léane Barbarin, just 12, finished second at the Optimist Spring International Cup, qualifying for the 2026 European Championships. These accomplishments highlight the club’s commitment to developing elite sailing
