The competition kicked off under a decent westerly breeze and sunny skies, with Paul Plested setting the stage by marking the course. After a brief orientation, the races began on time, overseen by race officials Neil Westbrook and Dave Williams. Early races saw Robbie Mac take the first win, followed closely by Paul Plested and Graham Elliott. Brad Gibson then dominated with three consecutive wins, while others like Roger Crates and Martin Roberts also shined.
As the day progressed, the wind conditions challenged the sailors, with strong gusts causing chaos on the course. After a lunch break, the sailors returned to more manageable conditions, but gusts still influenced performance. Bill Culshaw made a notable impact, leading the pack in one race.
After a total of twenty races, Brad Gibson, sailing his Post Punk design, finished at the top.
