Storms disrupt racing at the iQFOiL Youth & Junior International Games in Torbole, despite a brief return of the Ora. The day started with high hopes as the wind picked up, allowing the U19 Men to hit the water for Upwind Slalom races. However, thunderstorms in the mountains quickly halted the competition after just three heats.
Nearly 200 sailors from 21 nations waited ashore, as conditions failed to improve. The weather has been a significant challenge this week, with racing halted for two consecutive days prior. Despite the interruptions, the event showcases stunning views of the Ponale cliffs and a vibrant, shifting lake.
In the U19 Men's standings, Gustaw Trybek (POL) leads with 2.67 points over France's Titouan Dizet, who holds a slim 1.33-point advantage over Finn Brüll (NED), the winner of today's race. Louan Gouault (FRA) is close behind in fourth. The U19 Women's fleet sees Salomé Simon (FRA) at the top, leading Garance Chatelier-Daisay (FRA) by three points, with Italy's Vittoria Marconi in third.
With no new races, the standings remain unchanged in the U19 Women, U17 Men, and U17 Women fleets, as the competition continues to grapple with unpredictable weather.
