Day 5 of the iQFOiL Youth & Junior International Games at Lake Garda sees the top eight sailors in each fleet qualify for the crucial Medal Series. This pivotal day of racing follows three days of challenging conditions and showcases nearly 200 athletes from 21 nations.

Lake Garda returns to form with its classic thermal wind pattern, enabling a marathon of races. The first fleets launch at 8:00 a.m., and racing continues until 3:30 p.m., totaling almost eight hours on the water. The Race Committee manages around 60 starting procedures, ensuring that all fleets complete the required eight qualifying races.

In the Under 17 Men's fleet, Germany's Moritz Schleicher and Czech sailor Frantisek Burda dominate, securing their spots in the Grand Final with one match point each. Italy’s Marco Capitta finishes sixth, advancing to the Quarter Finals.

The Under 17 Girls fleet also sees strong competition, with Poland's Michelle Urzykowski and Dutch sailor Anna leading the charge.

Saturday's Medal Series promises intense matchups as sailors vie for the championship. The format allows for an exciting battle, keeping the podium within reach for all finalists while rewarding the top qualifiers.
